ARCHWA & UAMS College of Public Health Cardiovascular Disease Module – The Basics

This self-paced, online training is adapted from the CDC’s community health worker training resource for preventing heart disease and stroke.  It provides community health workers with a basic understanding of how the heart works and how to keep our hearts healthy. This specialty training includes the following modules: overview of the cardiovascular system; you and your doctor; diet and exercise; effects of alcohol, tobacco, and drugs; and stress. A self-administered post-test is included with each module to help you assess your learning. A certificate of completion is also provided.

The module is free to ARCHWA members and login information can be requested by emailing info@archwa.org. Certified community health workers who complete the cardiovascular disease module and receive a certificate of completion will receive TWO professional development credits towards recertification.
